Fitness Tips – Stop Treading Water

Easy Fitness Tips

Fitness TipsKeeping up with the do’s and dont’s of the fitness world is kind of like treading water; eventually you tire and slowly seep back into your own abyss of insecurity.  The propaganda of social media certainly doesn’t help us either, with all the gimmicks and diets, powders and shakes.  Taglines constantly promote fruits having too much sugar and carbs being the enemy, and you always hear the stories of how somebody’s friend or sister lost 20 lbs in 2 days.  Is that even possible?

So what you may wonder is the solution? Need some fitness tips?

It’s a balance.  You don’t even have to join a gym, but you do have to do something.   Being sedentary will never be an optimal way of living.  While at home there are hundreds of alternatives:  bicycle crunches, Russian twist, lunges, plyometrics, jumping rope, walking, etc.  These are all exercises that can be done in front of the television, with little to no equipment, even if just for 30 minutes a day.

Moreover, controlling ones eating habits is yet another balance that can actually be more of a challenge than exercising.  You don’t have to give up the things you love, but you do have to use common sense.  For example: if you drink three sodas a day, five days a week, start replacing one can with a bottle of water.   That’s 700 calories a week you’ll save and 33,600 calories a year (THAT’S NOT COUNTING WEEKENDS).   Ultimately, it is those calories that are going to save you from gaining weight or aide in your weight gain.  By gradually introducing habits into your lifestyle, things begin to change, and as opposed to sinking, you slowly begin to swim.  For everything to work in its order, it absolutely must have a balance.

Suman Kathryn
I am Suman. I am from an India; an orphanage. My birth mother supposedly "absconded" during the night. Thus, I came to America at the age of 2 and now have been a citizen of this land for 31 years. My mum and dad who adopted me say that for the longest time I would take off running down the long dusty road of our Kentucky farm. They said they believed that (even at the age of 2) I was running back to India.
